WHO AM I?
I am a qualified, professional electrical engineer since 1992, working in power systems design, installation and maintenance.
I started my career in electrical engineering as an apprentice with the Guyana Electricity Corporation. Following the completion of the apprenticeship programme, I worked as an electrical technician for over 10 years prior to pursuing the BSc. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Guyana. During the time I worked as a technician, I completed the Technician Certificate 1 programme at the Georgetown Technical Institute and, later, acquired my electrical contractor licence.
As a professional engineer, I received training from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) of the USA in the “Essentials of the National Electrical Code (NEC)”. The NEC was developed by the NFPA as a standard for electrical installations. It has since been adopted as the standard for electrical installations in Guyana.
Further, I received post graduate training in solar PV system design and installation from the Solar Center, University of South Florida. I am also a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and a trained project manager.
The wealth of hands-on experience I gained working as an apprentice and, subsequently, an electrical technician provides me with a profound understanding of the practical implementation of projects. This, along with my academic training, plays a significant and important role in my planing of projects, particularly with regards to cost and time estimating.
WHY CHOOSE ME?
Considering my depth of knowledge and experience in the industry, I am sure that there is not an electricity-related problem that I would not be able to solve.
